Dream 9-4-16

September 4, 2016

Daughter W came for lunch, and we went to a nearby café. [In waking reality, yesterday, we planned that for today. She has recently travelled to Mexico, where she swam with whale sharks and others, and Hong Kong, so she will show me photos.] We could hear the conversation of the family sitting next to us. They were speaking in French, obviously tourists, trying to figure out how to get to some place. I said, in French, which of course surprised them, “excuse me, I can give you the directions. Do you know enough English that I can tell you in English, because it will be easier for me and I will know for sure that I use the right words? If you are unsure, I’ll do my best in French too.” They said okay, so I sketched a small street map and proceeded with the directions; but I spoke in French, even though I was aware that I should be switching to English. Especially, I kept saying, “Tournez à gauche.” [Seriously. Sometimes my dreamlife is embarrassingly obvious.]
