Diary 9-30-15

September 30, 2015

Dear Diary – Happy to report that I’m back into the visual—charcoal on gessoed paper. I’m using the wipe-out method for a landscape and drawing pears with the side (mainly) of a block of charcoal. The landscape image is of the long ridgeline that I see all the time out the window; it’s topped with tall evergreens that tend to be dark against the sky behind them, and in front of them (probably on the near side of the street that run along the crest, but appearing to be right up against the evergreens, is a line of poplars, equally tall, but lighter. So I’ve wiped out the sky with a cloth, and then eraser, and the first go at the poplars with q-tips, and now I need to lighten them a bit more.
