Here Come the Sun

June 21, 2015

Happy Summer Solstice! (And happy father’s day, if that’s you—it’s me).

As Environment Washington puts it this morning, we love the sun especially because it has the energy to empower our planet every moment that it shines. As a low-energy older guy, I can appreciate that!

Here’s how it looks in Seattle on this solstice:

Jun. 21, 2015 Rise Set
Actual Time 5:11 AM PDT 9:10 PM PDT
Civil Twilight 4:30 AM PDT 9:51 PM PDT
Nautical Twilight 3:34 AM PDT 10:47 PM PDT
Astronomical Twilight 2:02 AM PDT 12:19 AM PDT
Moon 10:39 AM PDT No Moon Set
Length of Visible Light 17h 20m
Length of Day 15h 59m

Tomorrow will be 0m2s shorter.

That’s beautiful! Then we get to sleep.
