Bernie Sanders

April 30, 2015

Dear Reader, today’s episode is one of the most important, one of the most exciting, moments of our novel. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has announced that he is a candidate for President of the United States.

Bernie gives us a character with total personal and political integrity and genuine humility, compassion, intelligence, understanding of the importance of democracy (a main issue, by the way, in this election, second only to stopping global warming), extensive knowledge, strong sense of civic responsibility, and civility.

As a candidate of the Center, a democratic socialist to the left of every other declared candidate at this time, he is the truest representative of the views on issues of the majority of Americans. There’s no wondering about Bernie, as in “I wonder where Y stands on the issue of X?” and “I wonder whether Y will shift to the left on X?” or “I wonder if Bernie will cave to the pressures of the rich?” Bernie stands where he has stood, clear and unwavering, for decades; and on every major issue, polling shows that the great majority of Americans have come to stand where he stands.

Bernie is extraordinarily articulate, as the result of his ability to think clearly and inform himself, plus his decades of talking with voters about his social philosophy and his understanding of the issues. He is also highly experienced in government, and has shown that he can get things done.

As nominee he would defeat any Republican, unless Republicans (i.e. the super rich who own that party) find a way to steal the election, which they will try to do, no matter who is the Democratic nominee.

Thank you, Bernie.

Many electric episodes to come!
