This is a dramatic moment. The plot is beginning a turn. A man is standing in the spotlight, delivering a soliloquy; and as he speaks, a woman sitting at the edge of the light leans forward and begins to rise. The audience can see that she will walk into the light; and now no one can tell who is the most important person in this play. Is it the present power, or the power to be?
